Set on a rare three-acre Maricopa County island within the fabric of Phoenix, Arizona, the Urbanowicz Home by Spry Architecture is a 4,880-square-foot modern desert residence designed for family living and expansive entertaining. The home’s hillside location offers distant views of city lights to the west and mountain vistas to the north, which inform its sweeping layout and dramatic outdoor connection.

A Home that Embraces Its Desert Setting

The residence is carefully oriented to wrap around a central outdoor living space, creating a private oasis of comfort and shade. With over 1,300 square feet of covered outdoor areas, the plan supports Arizona's indoor-outdoor lifestyle with ease, including a pool, outdoor kitchen, dining patio, and generous shaded zones for relaxing or entertaining. The architecture integrates expansive glass, deep roof overhangs, and thoughtful material selections to capture views while mitigating desert sun, creating a home that’s both high-performing and visually timeless.
