A modern ranch in Arcadia Lite, Phoenix, Arizona
The Gabriel Home is a 3,300-square-foot modern ranch-style residence located in Arcadia Lite, one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Phoenix, Arizona. Designed by Eric Spry of Spry Architecture, this project reflects the firm’s signature style — blending modern desert architecture with family-oriented design, natural light, and seamless indoor–outdoor connections. This modern L-shaped home wraps around a vibrant, enclosed outdoor living space featuring a pool, garden zones, and a large lawn designed for children to play and grow. The interior-facing walls are nearly all glass, maximizing views and allowing sunlight to flood the living areas while creating strong visual and physical ties to the exterior.
The home includes 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths in the main structure, plus a separate 600-square-foot modern pool house with an additional 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom suite, ideal for guests, in-laws, or creative studio use. An expansive 800+ square feet of covered outdoor space supports true year-round outdoor living, with room for dining, relaxing, and entertaining. From almost every space in the home — living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and even the pool house — residents enjoy uninterrupted views of Camelback Mountain, one of Phoenix’s most iconic natural landmarks. The architectural layout was intentionally planned to capture this mountain backdrop while offering privacy and functional zones for family life.
The Gabriel Home is a standout example of Spry Architecture’s expertise in modern family home design in Phoenix, particularly in neighborhoods like Arcadia Lite, where walkability, community, and mountain views converge. This home blends the relaxed warmth of a ranch-style layout with the clean lines, glass, and spatial openness of contemporary desert architecture. It exemplifies Spry Architecture’s approach to creating functional, livable, and visually striking homes tailored to each site and family.
